Save Palani Hills

The Palani Hills is an eastward extension of the Western Ghats hills located in Tamil Nadu, India. The Palani hills are most prominent towards the west, ranging from 1,800 metres (5,900 ft.) to 2,553 metres (8,376 ft.) (5,906 ft. - 8,376 ft.). The three most prominent peaks are: Vandaravu 2,553 metres (8,376 ft.), Ibex Peak 2,517 metres (8,258 ft.), Vembadi Peak 2,505 metres (8,219 ft.) high. The Palani Hills is naturally divided in to Upper Palani Hills and Lower Palani Hills. Major portions of Kodaikanal Forest Division are sloppy and undulating terrains. Upper Palani Hills is having various types of lands such as Peaks of height ranging from 2000m to 2654m, grass lands, Plains, Sholas, Wet lands and water bodies. They are rich in flora and fauna and some important endemic among them.
